Thank You – Thank You

Thank you for returning the remote to the exercise room.  I know I, and I am sure others greatly appreciate not having to balance on the Elliptical Machine to turn on the TV.  Now if we could only find a remote that would get some of us (myself) to exercise more often.

Thanks again.

Chocolate Fest

FYI  Breaking News!!  The annual chocolate fest benefitting the North Dearborn County food pantry is Friday, April 9.  Tix are $10 and will go on sale the last weekend in February.  It always sells out, so if you want to go, get a ticket or let me know and I will get some.  Last year was really fun!

Question & Answers

There has been concern with some residents about their windows freezing and creating moisture and mildew.  Has anyone had any luck with solving this problem?  If you have contact me at kashpaw@fuse.net and I will publish the answers.  One solution I was told was to not leave your blinds or drapes closed all the time, so the moisture doesn’t build up on the windows.  Any other suggestions, please let us know.

Responses:

Kathy, those sliding windows we have here sometimes appear to be closed but aren’t. You have to pull the end toward you when it is almost closed to get it to go in the slot and to lock properly.
Hi Kathy….saw your article on the window/mildew situation. I had Fischer and the window people out 3 different times and all I ever got was about the blind/drape comment that they need to be open and the mini blinds should be at least 1/2″ off the window sill.  I have sticks in my tracks for extra locking protection and had noticed a couple of weeks ago that they are molded as well.  I personally believe we have bad windows but not sure what exactly to do about it.  Fischer and the window company told me I was the only one with this problem.

Dumpsters

Ok folks, this is getting really old.  I just came from the dumpsters, and again there was garbage laying outside the dumpsters.  YOUR MOTHER DOES NOT LIVE HERE, AND SO SHE WILL NOT BE PICKING UP YOUR GARBAGE!!!.  Why would anyone be so stupid as to leave their garbage, (todays garbage was the Enquirer, take out dinner and ice cream bar box) out of the dumpsters so animals can get into it.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND, RUMPKE WILL NOT PICK UP GARBAGE LAYING ON THE GROUND.  By the way, I was able to put my garbage and yours in the dumpster, there was room.  And in case you are wondering, I DO NOT LIKE GARBAGE, ESPECIALLY SOMEONE ELSE’S.  So please be considerate, and put your garbage inside the dumpsters.  Thank you!

Interesting web site

Good info!

How long can that bottle of ketchup stay in your fridge before it goes bad?   I’m thinking 5 or 10 years but if you want an expert opinion, go to the web site below.  This site lists all kind of foods and how to keep them fresh longer as well as when to get rid of them.  If you have a question click on the particular picture, and a whole list of stuff appears………….WHAT A GREAT SITE!

If you are interested in renting the Clubhouse check the Calendar tab at the top of the page to see when it is already booked.

Attention dog owners

I know dogs gotta go just like everyone else, but some owners have been letting their dogs use the grassy area between the office and the 1st Villa units, and in front of the office on the corner regularly for their bathroom.  The grass is very dry and urine spotted. and it just doesn’t look too good.  Why not take them for a walk down the road towards the circle where it won’t disturb anything or anyone.  Another idea is use the area around your own condos and water the lawn to dilute the urine, the grass will thank you, and so will the condo owners.  Don’t forget to use “Doggie bags” to clean up. Thanks for your co-operation.

This a reminder to everyone here at Legacy to install the fire retardant plastic foam insulators under your electric outlet and switch covers to prevent air infiltration, which saves energy.  If you want to test your condo for leakage, place your hand near an outside wall outlet on a cold, windy day and you will feel the air coming in.  These inexpensive insulators install easily and quickly and stop the air from coming in.  Many of the inside wall boxes also leak, so be sure to do as many of them as possible.  These are available at Home Depot and our local hardware stores.
